Safety

Duties overlap. They are coordinated.

Both Apex and the host are PCBUs under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Neither is the primary PCBU. This split belongs on every job confirmation.

Host

Induction, site hazards, and the safety plan before start. Day-to-day supervision and method. Scaffolding certificate of competence holder. Host plant. Either party stops unsafe work.

Apex

Current tickets, fitness and a PPE check before every placement. Check the site is safe before placing someone. Check in during the job. Incident follow-up and records. PPE: Workers may use their own PPE if they choose, provided it meets the required standard and passes Apex's pre-start check (harnesses in date and inspected). Apex supplies any PPE a worker doesn't have, at no cost to the worker.

Tickets the site may name

Held, and not held.

Held

Site Safe. US 23229 harness. US 15757 temporary proprietary height safety systems. US 17600 safe work practices at heights. US 19359 identify, inspect and maintain height safety equipment. US 23966 EWP types and rules. US 23960 scissor lift. US 23962 self-propelled boom. US 3271 hand extinguishers and hose reels. US 4647 basic fire science. Certificate in Advanced Welding. Permit receiver for industrial sites, including shrinkwrap hot work completed with Apex's own LPG and heat guns.

Dates and certificate numbers stay on the Tickets Register and are shown to a host before a placement. They are not published here.

Not held

US 23961, 23963 and 23964. Dogman or rigger. Rope access Level 3. Telco climbing. Confined space. Licensed asbestos removal.

Many hosts use SiteWise or Totika. Ask before the first big placement. A prequalification is not claimed as already approved.

Insurance

Arranged before the first site day.

Public liability is arranged in the company name before the first site day. It is not described as a policy already bound, and there is no policy number on this site.

Usual guide: $2 million, $5 million if a host asks, no height exclusion, hot work completed as permit receiver, and own LPG and heat guns, declared. Vehicle business use is separate. Contract works stay with the host or principal.

Professional indemnity is not in place, because Apex does not test, tag or certify anchors. The limited company does not remove the director's duties. Policies go in the legal name, Apex Heights Labour Hire Limited.
